Summer releases include a cd by Platform 1(with Magnus Broo, Steve Swell, Michael Vatcher, Joe Williamson album), “Takes Off,” on Clean Feed; seven pieces, nine compositions, two each by Broo, Vandermark, Williamson, and three by Swell. Also issued was a 45 on the Terp label, called “Abet?!”; one side by Double Tandem (with Ab Baars and Paal Nilssen-Love), the other by Mats Gustafsson solo, both excepts from performances in Addis. There were two recording sessions, both taking place in Italy. The first held on May 29th and 30th, in Lecce at Roy Paci’s studio, Pasada Negro, engineered by Riccardo Parravicini, was to document eight compositions by the Ex & Brass Unbound (including Arnold de Boer, Terrie Hessels, Andy Moor, Kat Bornefeld, Wolter Wierbos, Roy Paci, Mats Gustafsson unavailable). The second was recorded in Rome on June 5th by Matteo keflex online 500mg Spinazze, a series of open improvisations played in various combinations from a pool of of Italian musicians (Stefano Ferrian, Luca Pissavini, Simone Quatrana, Mimmo Sec, and myself. The work on recordings included one mixing session, with Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering, for an album and lp to be released on Clean Feed by Made To Break (performing new sets of my compositions, played with Tim Daisy, Devin Hoff, and Christof Kurzmann); these performance were recorded over a set of three concerts that took place in Lisbon last November. Work was also completed on two lps to be released on Kollaps, mixed by Michael Heilrath, from performances at Cafe Oto in London last September- the first with Ab Baars as a guest, the second with Steve Noble guesting (the quartet lineup: Terrie Hessels, Andy Moor, Paal Nilssen-Love, myself).
