Completed the preface to Guillaume Belhomme’s book, “Way Ahead.” Hoping
that the ideas about Jazz, history, and artists are clear, especially
since I’m guessing it will be translated and I won’t be able to proof
read the French! Have been digging deep into the Funk recordings both
to prepare for some dj sessions at
Nickelsdorf this summer and wrestle with new ideas for Powerhouse
Sound- want to have at least a set of new material ready to play for
our Chicago gig on June 20th. Added to the stockpile of inspiration was
viewing “Soul Power” with Nate McBride- superior performance
