Rehearse with the Vandermark 5 in the morning (and remember why morning
rehearsals are twice as hard as when they’re held in the afternoon…),
work on the new piece, making adjustments as we go; some good
suggestions from the band. The composition still needs some editing
before Tuesday’s performance at Elastic, have
some further plans to try on Monday’s session. Will try and finish
another chart for the V5 this weekend and one for Powerhouse Sound;
much to do. Saw Mission of Burma at Subterranean, a fine show- honest
music about what the band is now, not a “greatest hits” package. Such a
tremendous rhythm section!
