Fly to Oslo early in the morning to head to the Kongsberg Festival to play with Lean Left. Short nap, sound check,dinner, and then beautiful chaos- the improvisations ranged from explosive to introspective, cut up grooves to driving rhythms,everything clear and defined. Concert was recorded, hope the document catches what happened, would make an incredible album. Speaking of which, Volume Two of the group’s performances at the Bimhuis just came out, as did Free Fall’s, “Gray Scale,” both on smalltown. Lean Left in Kongsberg:
