Went to see “Jean-Michel Basquiat: Radiant
Child” (directed by Tamra Davis) on Friday. Incredible footage of New
York in the early 1980’s, and tons of achival film of Basquiat at work
and being interviewed. The fact the he produced over 1000 paintings and
1000 drawings before he died at the age of 27 is mindboggl…ing.
Basquiat’s work ethic and creative results are so inspiring; online canadian pharmacy watching
the art world tear him down after building him up is a case study in the
dangers of fame and heroin. This evening I did an interview at the
Transistor shop in Andersonville to help promote the solo concert held
there this Friday night (a double bill with Ono); this will be streaming
on their site by Monday afternoon (http://transistorchicago.com/)
