Small turnout for the Transistor show; the
organizers decided to ask Ono to move their performance to another date
because they were concerned that the turnout was going to be too large
for the room. This seems to have confused things for the listeners and,
ironically, the opposite kind of attendance occured. The folks
that showed were very appreciative and I was happy with the way the
music went: played the Ayler and McPhee pieces, “(brullt),” and the
Rothko template from “Furniture Music,” the other four performances were
open improvisations. I’ve been asked to do a solo set in Oslo during
the Brotzmann Chicago Tentet residency at the end of October, the
rehearsal and performance for the Transistor gig will be preparation for
that concert. Another solo piece from Bucharest:
