Rounding out the Okka Fest 7 roster of 20 musicians is trumpeter Russ Johnson. Russ has been based in Milwaukee the last couple of years after working for an extended period in New York, and he’s developed a number of projects with Chicago based musicians. On Saturday, June 6th he’ll be joining Jeb Bishop’s longstanding trio with Frank Rosaly and Jason Roebke for their set at the Sugar Maple. Jeb has composed new pieces just for this project and this should be an outstanding first performance by this quartet!
