3/19:
Meet most of the other musicians playing on the Impro Jazz Festival over dinner: Floros Floridas (also the head organizer), Pandelis Karayorgis, Michael Griener, Jan Roder, Nicky Skopelitis, Hans Koch,
and Okay Temiz (know him from his early work with Don Cherry- seems that Cherry’s influence is filling the start of the new year for me). Start reading, “Setting Sun: Writings by Japanese Photographers.” Have been fascinated by the photography during the 1960s-’70s in that country for a number of years, since I first saw Daido Moriyama‘s work at the Metropolitan in NY more than a decade ago.
