Head to Berlin after the end of the Impro-Jazz Festival. I felt the standout performances were a trio with Floridis/Roder/Griener (21), and Karayorgis/Koch/Roder (22). Enjoyed playing in both the duo
with Karayorgis and a trio with Floridis and Koch (who sounded outstanding on bass clarinet all weekend). After planes and airports all day had a great dinner at Haavard Wiik’s place, up late listening
to albums (highlight being Bailey/Coe’s should-be-a-classic duo on Incus, “Time.”).
