Though there’s still no word on my stolen baritone, I am lucky enough to have Werner Ludi’s old horn (via Brotzmann) in my possession- and it’s a real beauty. Now I need to figure out how the hell I’m going to
be able to tour with it… Been working on a preface to Guillaume Belhomme’s follow up book to “Giant Steps” called “Way Ahead.” The article is an attempt to present a functional way to examine Jazz history; we’ll see…
Trying to finish 3 books:”The Gilded Gutter Life Of Francis Bacon,” “The Age of Extremes,” and “Rites Of Spring;” all fascinating, though I need more time to read.
