Spun Funk & Soul records at the opening of the Saki record store, looks like I’ll be doing this at the Nickelsdorf Konfrontationen Festival in July too. Re-watched “You Weren’t There: A History of Chicago Punk 1977-1984.” It made me think of the start of my Chicago years and the shifts in clubs: Southend Musicworks, the first Hothouse (in Wicker Park), Lounge Ax, the first Velvet Lounge (on Indiana), Lunar Cabaret, the Empty Bottle, 3030… now the Hungry Brain, the Hideout, Elastic, and the new Velvet Lounge.
