The Vandermark 5 play to a packed house at
Elastic, the third concert of the August residency. First performances
of “Leap Revisited” and “Whether” go extremely well, though the third
section of Leap is a technical pain in the ass; at least Dave can play
it! Met a couple fans from Madrid who are taking an incredible
trip across the U.S. based on their interest in music: New York to see
John Zorn at the Stone; Patricia Barbara at the Green Mill and the the
Vandermark 5 at Elastic in Chicago; Chuck Berry in St. Louis; then down
to Nashville, Memphis, and New Orleans… What a fantastic way to see
the state of the States. Vandermark 5 live in Ljubljana, playing
“Cement”:
