Completed the basis for a new Vandermark 5
composition, called “Second Phase;” dedicating it to the incredible
group of saxophonists that were part of the AACM in the late
1960’s/early 1970’s: Fred Anderson, Anthony Braxton, Joseph Jarmen,
Roscoe Mitchell, Henry Threadgill… Watched Jacques Audiard’s film, “A
Prophet,” and was pretty much blown away.
Followed that with “Orson Welles: The Paris Interview,” (from 1960) on
Tim Daisy’s recommendation- fantastic! Orson Welles on the making of
