Leave Newport at 11am Monday and arrive in Chicago at 3am Tuesday- a
lovely 16 hour trip; I thought we’d never make it out of
Pennsylvania. Long drive made interesting by the amazing music John
and Jeff had on their iPods (live Muhal Richard Abrams from early 70s,
a band called Boris from Japan…) and the interesting
conversations (how to survive in the “post-record industry” music
world, thoughts about different music (the drumming of Steve McCall and
Alan Myers of Devo…). Got home for the Vandermark 5 concert at
Elastic Tuesday, and then fly to Boston on Wednesday morning- a logical
